Managing Director - Aerospace & Defense

Location: Charlotte, NC, United States. Workplace type: Office.

Salary: $93,000–$189,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Build and service profitable commercial banking relationships and loan portfolios in the aerospace and defense sectors.
• Originate, analyze, structure, negotiate, and close commercial loan transactions.
• Underwrite loan requests by validating financial information, analyzing financial statements, conducting credit checks, and ensuring policy and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor existing accounts, review credit and compliance findings, identify problems early, and coordinate remedial or workout management.
• Coordinate attorneys, accountants, consultants, appraisers, title companies, government agencies, and internal support personnel to complete transactions.
• Promote banking products including business checking and treasury management services while keeping management informed about portfolio and market conditions.

Requirements

• Four-year college degree or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of commercial lending experience.
• At least 5 years of lending experience with aerospace and/or defense companies.
• Experience with credit analysis, underwriting, loan documentation, and commercial transaction management.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, sales, and written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Word and Excel and the ability to learn additional banking systems.

Nice to have

• MBA in Finance or Accounting.
• 7–10 years of middle-market lending experience.
• Knowledge of underwriting guidelines, SBA and similar government guarantee programs, and legal documentation.
