QEHS Intern (Manufacturing)

Location: Richmond manufacturing site; at least 28 hours onsite Monday through Friday. Administrative shift: 8:30 AM–4:00 PM, with flexibility during school hours. This is not a remote position.

Pay rate: $24.51 per hour.

What you will do

• Support the implementation and follow-up of environmental, health, and safety programs.
• Assist with safety inspections, risk assessments, hazard identification, incident tracking, and corrective actions.
• Support daily quality operations, production-floor issue resolution, and packing quality activities.
• Collect, analyze, and report quality KPIs while participating in root cause analysis and defect-reduction initiatives.
• Assist with audits, process confirmations, quality inspections, documentation updates, and complaint investigations.
• Coordinate training, onboarding, and EHS communications while supporting production orders and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed education in occupational safety, environmental science, engineering, quality management, industrial technology, manufacturing, business, or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in a professional work environment, preferably in manufacturing, quality, or EHS.
• Exposure to ISO standards, auditing, or safety programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, coordination, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize issues and support decision-making.
