TL;DR
Associate Offensive Security Consultant (Cybersecurity): Conducting red team assessments, penetration tests, adversary simulations, and offensive security training for large enterprises with an accent on attack-path analysis, tool development, and client communication. Focus on building offensive scripts and methodologies, researching adversary tradecraft, and delivering technical findings to executive and technical stakeholders.

Location: Remote, United States; quarterly travel is required for in-person company events and other meetings. Candidates must be authorized to work and reside in the United States; immigration visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 base annually, commensurate with experience.

What you will do

  • Plan and conduct red team assessments, penetration tests, web application tests, offensive maturity assessments, and specialty security assessments.
  • Communicate attack paths, findings, recommendations, and strategy through technical reports, presentations, and client briefings.
  • Build scripts, tools, and methodologies that improve offensive security services.
  • Develop expertise in areas such as initial access, OSINT, adversary tradecraft, Windows/Linux/macOS operations, evasion, or technical capability development.
  • Support engagement scoping, technical testing from kickoff through remediation, client meetings, and mentoring of less experienced staff.
  • Contribute to and help deliver SpecterOps training courses, including instruction and lab support.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, averaging up to 25% annually.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Foundational knowledge of offensive security concepts, assessments, security principles, policies, and industry best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Unix-like operating systems, networking, and Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as C#/.NET, C++, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
  • Strong technical writing, verbal communication, interpersonal, research, and training-support skills.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Experience with large enterprise or federal government security assessments.
  • Public contributions such as conference presentations, blog posts, white papers, or open-source security tools.
  • Experience administering, attacking, or defending Windows/Active Directory, Linux, or macOS environments.
  • Experience in security consulting, technical writing, or technical training.
