Data Engineer (GCP)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX or Southlake, TX

Salary: USD $52.88–$59.62 per hour, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Design, build, and optimize scalable enterprise data pipelines and end-to-end data integration solutions.
• Develop cloud-based data solutions using GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer, and Pub/Sub.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and source-to-target data mappings.
• Implement data quality controls, validation, exception handling, and governance practices.
• Support production deployments and drive continuous improvement across the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with engineers, technical leads, analysts, and business stakeholders while mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, data integration, and enterprise data pipelines.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience, plus Python development for data engineering and automation.
• Hands-on experience with GCP, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Composer, and Pub/Sub.
• Experience with ETL processes, enterprise integration solutions, and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services.
• Experience with Agile development, large-scale data processing, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workday, BMC Remedy Helix, Jira, Rally, or similar enterprise platforms.
• Experience with GitHub, Bamboo, Liquibase, DevOps, and software delivery tools.
• Knowledge of data architecture principles, development standards, and source-to-target mapping documentation.
