Senior Consulting Engineer (ClickHouse)

Location: EMEA (Remote); up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel and availability for 24x7 support scheduling and on-call needs.

What you will do

• Design, architect, integrate, implement, document, benchmark, size, and migrate customer ClickHouse and distributed DBMS deployments.
• Provide consultative support for implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proofs of concept.
• Handle L1–L3 support cases and customer communications when not assigned to project work.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales on product roadmap and account plans.
• Create public and internal documentation, knowledge-base articles, learning materials, reference architectures, blogs, and benchmark results.
• Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, or Project Management.
• 5+ years implementing, operating, or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems.
• Strong knowledge of DBMS, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
• Experience leading and delivering large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
• Expertise with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings.
• Strong communication skills and experience in customer-facing collaboration with Support Services, Engineering, and Sales.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, open-source technologies, or data pipelines such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ.
• Additional experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
