IT Security Operations Manager (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and develop Security Analysts through coaching, career development, and performance management.
• Manage team priorities, workload distribution, accountability, and security service delivery.
• Oversee security alerts, escalations, investigations, and incident response, serving as the escalation point for complex incidents and high-risk situations.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement after security events.
• Perform security assessments and advise clients on cybersecurity best practices, compliance requirements, risk reduction, and security strategy.
• Own and optimize Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, Huntress, email security, vulnerability management, and related security platforms while improving processes, documentation, reporting, and service offerings.

Requirements

• 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in an MSP, MSSP, healthcare, regulated industry, or similar environment.
• 2+ years of leadership, team lead, or management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft security technologies, identity management, endpoint security, and incident response.
• Experience with risk assessments, security reviews, and compliance initiatives.
• Familiarity with HIPAA, SOC 2, cyber insurance requirements, and related security frameworks.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, decision-making, communication, documentation, and process-management skills.

Nice to have

• Security+, CISSP, CISM, SC-200, SC-300, or similar cybersecurity certifications.
• Experience leading security programs in an MSP or MSSP environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Lighthouse, Sentinel, Defender XDR, or advanced security monitoring platforms.
