Associate - Retail Performance Improvement (Campus)

Location: Boston, MA; associates may be aligned to BRG offices across the United States and may travel to local and non-local client sites as needed. Expected client travel is up to 80%. Must be able to verify the legal right to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year, plus potential discretionary annual incentive.

What you will do

• Analyze financial and operational data to identify cost savings, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Build and maintain financial models, forecasts, and value capture frameworks.
• Conduct market, competitor, and operational research across retail and consumer sectors.
• Prepare client-ready presentations, data visualizations, and written deliverables.
• Support diagnostics covering supply chain, merchandising, store operations, labor, pricing, and omnichannel performance.
• Partner with consultants and client teams on workstreams from initial concept through implementation, using generative AI tools responsibly where appropriate.

Requirements

• Expected bachelor's degree graduation between Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 in mathematics, operations research, business, economics, finance, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of prior work or internship experience; retail, direct-to-consumer, or consumer goods experience is preferred.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze large data sets, and think logically about solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to colleagues and clients.
• Comfort working in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities, taking ownership, and learning through feedback.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.6 or higher.
• Experience with SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Alteryx, or other analytical tools.
• Experience in retail, direct-to-consumer, or consumer goods through internships, coursework, or extracurricular projects.
