Multiplatform Content Creator / Multimedia Journalist (Video Production)

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States; full-time onsite at an hirify.global-designated worksite

What you will do

• Create lifestyle content for broadcast, streaming, websites, social media, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
• Research, shoot, write, edit, and produce stories about Connecticut communities, businesses, food, entertainment, travel, nonprofits, and events.
• Pitch original ideas, digital-exclusive series, social-first stories, sponsored campaigns, and evergreen content.
• Collaborate with production, sales, marketing, creative services, digital, and editorial teams on integrated multiplatform campaigns.
• Analyze audience engagement, platform performance, and digital trends to improve content strategies.
• Build relationships with community organizations, tourism partners, businesses, nonprofits, creators, and influencers, and represent CT Live at events and activations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, broadcast journalism, media production, digital media, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least one year of experience as a multimedia journalist, content creator, digital producer, lifestyle producer, or in a similar role.
• Professional experience writing, shooting, editing, and producing video content across broadcast, streaming, web, digital publishing, and social media.
• Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, or comparable non-linear editing software, plus mobile production and digital publishing tools.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Connecticut.
• Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States; must be at least 18 years old and become a SAG-AFTRA member.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, community events, and full-time onsite work.

Nice to have

• Experience with digital-first, social-first, lifestyle, branded, sponsored, or advertiser-supported content.
• Experience optimizing content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, OTT, SEO, and other digital platforms.
• On-camera hosting, audience analytics, mobile journalism, AI-powered creative tools, or emerging content technology experience.
• Knowledge of Connecticut communities, culture, businesses, and events.
