Software Engineer, Marketplace (Ruby on Rails/React)

Location: Remote — USA, Canada, or Mexico

What you will do

• Plan, design, and implement features for the Marketplace platform.
• Build functionality connecting customers with maintenance shops and facilitating outsourced maintenance and payments.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Engineers, and Quality Engineers on feature design and delivery.
• Design and review scalable architectures and research technical feasibility through prototypes and spikes.
• Deliver well-tested, maintainable, and performant code.
• Review peer code to maintain quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and/or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Experience solving challenging architecture problems through sound design.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks.
• Excellent written communication, attention to detail, and ability to make technical trade-offs.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Data modeling expertise and query performance optimization experience.
• Experience leading small teams or projects.
• Knowledge of the fleet management industry.
• Experience building APIs for consumer or mobile applications and integrating external APIs.
• Experience building two-sided marketplace solutions.
