Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails/React)

Location: Remote-only; the company operates across 30+ countries and collaborates across time zones.

Salary: $130,000–$140,000 USD per year, with equity and 35 days of paid time off annually.

What you will do

• Build purchasing experiences for discovering digital memberships, courses, communities, and content.
• Develop and maintain applications using Ruby on Rails, React, and Next.js.
• Implement Next.js SSR, SSG, routing, and performance optimization practices.
• Improve code quality, development processes, and application architecture.
• Collaborate with company leaders and designers to shape features and user experiences.
• Balance rapid iteration with high-quality code and performant user experiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer working on complex, high-scale web applications.
• Strong proficiency with Ruby on Rails, MySQL or PostgreSQL, React, TypeScript, Next.js, and Tailwind.
• Experience with both frontend and backend development, distributed remote teams, and autonomous work.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and learn new technologies as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• English proficiency at CEFR C2 / ILR Level 5 is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with creator platforms, social content and video feeds, or marketplaces.
• Experience with A/B testing and experimentation for consumer-facing applications.
• Exposure to search, recommendations, and personalization at scale.
• Production experience with Next.js and hybrid React/Next.js systems for high-traffic applications.
