Senior Engineer, Invest Tech (Python)

Location: New York, New York; hybrid workplace model with at least four full days per week in an hirify.global office

Salary: $115,000–$140,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest internal systems, market data, and operational databases.
• Design and manage PostgreSQL and analytical data models for front-office workflows and quantitative research.
• Develop production Python and SQL for ETL, validation, enrichment, and data quality monitoring.
• Build lightweight internal applications, reporting interfaces, browser-based tools, and data-grid interfaces.
• Support research and analytics workflows using large financial and time series datasets.
• Partner with quantitative developers and investment users to improve data usability, transparency, and reliability.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering with a strong data focus.
• Strong Python experience and production ETL pipeline development.
• Experience with relational databases and production data modeling.
• Experience with testing, code quality, debugging, and documentation.
• Experience with financial, transactional, or time series data is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• PostgreSQL or Snowflake experience.
• Familiarity with dbt, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Kafka, Redis, and cloud data infrastructure.
• JavaScript experience for internal tools, dashboards, or data-grid-based interfaces.
