Senior Network Security Engineer – Firewall & Segmentation Expert (Palo Alto, Fortinet)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal, with a hybrid work model of up to 3 remote days per week

What you will do

• Diagnose and troubleshoot network security issues to maintain high availability and meet service-level agreements.
• Implement, code, and optimize firewall policies and segmentation rules across NSX-T/VCF9, Palo Alto, and Fortinet environments.
• Implement micro-segmentation and automate firewall rule optimization to improve security and operational efficiency.
• Provide subject-matter expertise, guidance, training, and alerts on network security issues.
• Collaborate with cross-domain technical teams to improve security architecture and operational workflows.
• Maintain incident and change management records in line with ITIL best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in network security and IT production operations.
• Hands-on expertise with NSX-T/VCF9, Palo Alto, and Fortinet, including coding and micro-segmentation implementation.
• Experience managing security policies, segmentation, and automation in enterprise environments.
• Fluent English and fluent Portuguese or French are required.
• Existing legal right to work in the European Union is required.

Nice to have

• CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent certification.
