Hardware Integration and Development Engineer (Robotics)

hirify.global develops commercially scalable and safe hirify.global robots, including the HMND-01 Alpha platform used in industrial pilots.

What you will do

• Bring up new PCB and PCBA revisions by reviewing schematics, checking power rails, and debugging with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Integrate sensors, encoders, cameras, and IMUs with ESP32, Raspberry Pi, and NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Validate and debug I2C, SPI, MIPI, UART, Ethernet, USB, CAN, and EtherCAT interfaces.
• Develop calibration routines, diagnostic tooling, and fault/status checks for integrated hardware.
• Resolve issues across firmware, electrical, and mechanical boundaries while supporting test rigs, trials, and validation.
• Document hardware interfaces, bring-up procedures, and known issues for other engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 4+ years of experience in hardware integration, bring-up, or embedded systems.
• FPGA experience is required.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, encoders, cameras, and embedded compute platforms such as ESP32, Raspberry Pi, or NVIDIA Jetson.
• Strong hardware debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD, including PCB/PCBA bring-up.
• Experience developing calibration routines and supporting hardware testing and validation.
• Ability to work across firmware, electrical, and mechanical engineering in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Basic embedded firmware or scripting experience for tooling and diagnostics.
• Experience with formally defined hardware interfaces shared across teams.
• Experience in robotics or a hardware startup environment.
