First Line Risk Specialist - Technology (Digital Assets)

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States; four days onsite and one day working from home per week.

Salary: $125,600–$209,400 USD annually.

M&T Bank is a commercial banking organization expanding into digital-asset products and blockchain-enabled services.

What you will do

• Guide technology and cybersecurity risk analysis and control development for Commercial Banking technology, Enterprise Architecture, and digital-asset initiatives.
• Create and analyze process maps for digital-asset workflows and Commercial Banking processes, translating findings into actionable controls.
• Assess blockchain fundamentals, cryptocurrency custody models, Wallet-as-a-Service, wallets, and transaction flows to support safe product design and launch.
• Develop risk management plans, targeted risk assessments, risk and control self-assessments, reporting, and documentation for senior leadership.
• Lead compliance activities, maintain internal controls, and support regulatory engagements and exam management.
• Mentor newer analysts and collaborate with Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk, Internal Audit, business teams, and senior leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant experience, or a combined minimum of 9 years of higher education and/or work experience without a degree.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in a specific Technology or Cybersecurity risk area and/or business unit.
• Advanced knowledge of Technology and Cybersecurity risk principles.
• Ability to work onsite in Bridgeport four days per week and from home one day per week.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, interpersonal, and persuasive communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, prioritize competing demands, and partner with leadership.

Nice to have

• CRISC, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or another certification aligned with the function or domain.
• Experience designing solutions with leadership and applying critical information to specific processes.
