AVP, Operational Risk – Information Technology Oversight (Fintech)

Location: Stamford, Connecticut, United States; hybrid work with required commuting to the nearest hirify.global Hub for in-person meetings, training, and culture events

Salary: $90,000–$155,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus

What you will do

• Perform independent second-line operational risk oversight for information technology programs, emerging technologies, and technology adoption.
• Assess risks related to software obsolescence, application resiliency, performance, availability, and business requirements.
• Monitor AWS and Azure public cloud activities and develop control objectives based on regulatory guidance.
• Contribute to and validate Alpha, Beta, and General Availability requirements for cloud and new technology certifications across applications and infrastructure.
• Investigate technology risks, monitor accepted risks, and escalate issues through Operational Risk Management processes.
• Review IT third-party supplier risks and support enterprise risk assessment, risk and control self-assessment, and eGRC activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of information technology and/or data analytics experience in financial services or banking.
• Strong understanding of technology operational risks, including software obsolescence, application design, resiliency, performance, and availability.
• Experience with information security, risk management concepts, IT operations, application support, or technology risk oversight.
• Experience with data sourcing, reporting, analytical capabilities, internal audits, regulatory exams, and preparation of supporting evidence.
• Strong written, oral, presentation, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts and write formal findings for senior management.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

• Experience working in ambiguous environments and building internal and external professional networks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Curiosity and the ability to learn new concepts.
