Head of Test Development Engineering (Automotive Networking)

Location: San Jose, CA, United States; hybrid

Salary: $220,000–$280,000 annual base salary, plus incentive compensation in the form of pre-IPO ISO options and benefits.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end test architecture, infrastructure, hardware, and methodology from pre-silicon through post-silicon.
• Engage with architecture, DFT, system software, security, and related teams to define ATE, SLT, DFM, and DFD requirements.
• Deliver manufacturing test programs for high-speed Ethernet switch and PHY products from NPI bring-up through high-volume manufacturing.
• Design test boards for wafer, final, and system-level testing, ensuring signal integrity, power integrity, robustness, and target test time.
• Lead test lab operations and manage relationships with OSATs and vendors supporting testers, probers, probe cards, load boards, sockets, handlers, and related equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 12+ years of experience in fabless semiconductor operations involving complex, high-performance SoCs or networking ICs.
• Expertise with the ATE 93K platform, Smartest, test method libraries, and robust SI/PI test hardware for wafer and final test.
• Expertise in iJTAG, Scan, MBIST, sensor, SerDes, LSIO/HSIO, security fusing, and automated multi-site testing.
• Expertise in SLT testing, bare-metal and functional DVFS testing, benchmark testing, handler automation, and test-log standards.
• Experience with Ethernet PHY and switch DFT/DFM/DFD requirements, high-speed analog characterization, and automotive standards including IATF 16949, ISO 26262, Safe Launch, and PPAP.

Nice to have

• Experience with simulation, pattern generation, and pattern conversion.
• Experience delivering high-speed SerDes products to Tier-1 automotive OEMs.
• Experience negotiating with and managing hardware vendors and OSATs.
