Software Engineer I - Mobile App (MedTech)

Location: Galway, County Galway, Ireland

Salary: €44,240–€66,360 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

hirify.global develops healthcare technologies, including connected cardiac-care systems that support clinicians and patients using implantable cardiac devices.

What you will do

• Support the design, development, testing, debugging, and maintenance of native iOS and Android applications.
• Build mobile features for proprietary BLE communication with implanted cardiac devices and physiological data synchronization.
• Develop on-device health analytics using CoreML and TFLite, and create accessible interfaces with SwiftUI and Jetpack Compose.
• Implement platform integrations including HealthKit, Health Connect, iCloud, Google Backup, StoreKit 2, and Play Billing.
• Monitor connectivity quality, reconnection rates, synchronization outcomes, and end-to-end device-app communication.
• Own mobile release activities including build configuration, code signing, Firebase QA distribution, and App Store and Play Store submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree at Level 8 NFQ in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline, plus two years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of iOS and/or Android development.
• Familiarity with Swift, SwiftUI, Kotlin, Java, C#, .NET, GitHub, development environments, or mobile testing tools.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming, software engineering fundamentals, and version control.
• Ability to collaborate with product, design, verification engineering, backend teams, and external partners across multiple geographies.

Nice to have

• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, SQL, databases, Agile/Scrum, mobile UI/UX, automated testing, or app store release processes.
