CRA Mortgage Originator (Mortgage)

What you will do

• Originate mortgage applications for low-to-moderate income borrowers and neighborhoods.
• Cultivate new mortgage business and promote CRA, FHA, VA, and other bank mortgage products.
• Interview applicants, analyze financial and credit information, and independently assess creditworthiness.
• Issue pre-qualification statements, recommend suitable mortgage programs, and negotiate loan terms.
• Maintain relationships with customers, Realtors, housing agencies, governmental entities, and community organizations.
• Represent the bank at community events and seminars, with extensive travel and limited supervision.

Requirements

• Associate degree and 2 years of sales experience, or a combined minimum of 4 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience, including 2 years of sales experience.
• Ability to analyze income, assets, debts, credit data, and other financial information.
• Knowledge of mortgage products, CRA guidelines, first-time homebuyer programs, and lending regulations.
• Ability to comply with federal SAFE Act registration requirements and bank origination procedures.
• Willingness to travel extensively and conduct external sales calls.
