Location: Must be based in or able to work on-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $215,000 – $288,000

What you will do

• Own the editorial voice and content strategy, ranging from long-form narratives to launch messaging.
• Translate complex infrastructure, AI, and energy work into high-quality writing for technical audiences.
• Build and manage an editorial pipeline for essays, technical narratives, and executive communications.
• Partner with founders, engineers, and marketing to extract and document technical stories.
• Set and maintain high editorial standards for all public-facing content.

Requirements

• Proven experience owning the editorial voice of a company or publication.
• Ability to write and edit work that resonates with credible, skeptical technical readers.
• Experience collaborating with engineers or founders to distill dense technical work into sharp stories.
• Track record of building and shipping consistent editorial processes.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Background in technical, infrastructure, energy, or deep-tech subject matter.
• Experience building an editorial function from scratch.
• Portfolio of published long-form work.
• Experience with executive briefing and ghostwriting.
