Manufacturing Engineer (Tooling)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $169,000 – $193,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design production tooling and fixtures, including weld fixtures, assembly jigs, and lifting tools.
• Manage the full tooling lifecycle from concept through proving, including tolerance stack-ups and repeatability studies.
• Oversee maintenance, calibration, and revision tracking for all tooling.
• Design for operator efficiency, focusing on fast loading, mistake-proofing, and safe handling of heavy components.

Requirements

• Proven experience designing production tooling and fixtures for fabrication or assembly.
• Strong proficiency in performing tolerance stack-ups and capability studies.
• Ability to design mistake-proofing into systems to minimize errors.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to work on-site in one of the listed office locations.

Nice to have

• Experience with weld fixture design and GD&T.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Knowledge of lifting device design standards.
