Senior Security Engineer I, AI

Location: New York City office with a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days of in-office work per week; Thursdays are mandatory in-office days

Salary: $163,944–$215,176 per year, plus benefits, equity grants, and annual performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Lead the development of an AI security framework covering secure model adoption, training data pipelines, RAG architectures, and fine-tuning environments.
• Design and operationalize guardrails and contextual access controls to mitigate prompt injection, model poisoning, data exfiltration, and insecure output handling.
• Enforce least-privilege principles across LLMs and agentic workflows.
• Lead AI red-teaming exercises and map adversarial tactics to MITRE ATLAS and the OWASP Top 10 for LLMs.
• Develop metrics and reporting frameworks for AI security initiatives and communicate actionable insights to executives and compliance stakeholders.
• Partner with application and data engineering teams to establish secure-by-default AI practices.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience in technical security engineering, application security, cloud security infrastructure, or software engineering.
• Distinct focus on data security or AI frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with Data, Engineering, Privacy, HR, Compliance, legal, and business teams.
• Availability to work from the New York City office 3 days per week, including Thursdays.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating LLM security postures, implementing alignment guardrails, and managing AWS or GCP IAM boundaries.
• Fluency with emerging AI engineering tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
• Experience communicating AI risk requirements and architectural implications to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to independently commit, review, and manage code across enterprise repositories.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and health insurance data regulations.
