Software Engineers (Python/Rust)

Location: New York or San Francisco; on-site five days per week

Salary: $170,000–$280,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Work directly with the co-founders.
• Write Python and Rust.
• Design, implement, ship, and maintain major components of the query planning and execution engine.
• Use dynamic and static analysis of Python programs to optimize user code.
• Improve the platform rapidly in response to customer needs.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong computer science fundamentals and experience building and maintaining production systems.
• Ability to lead development of new system components and take ownership of existing software.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly, work autonomously, and make pragmatic trade-offs.
• Strong communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing data infrastructure.
• Experience with distributed systems, compilers, or query planners.
• Experience with Rust.
• Experience developing PaaS-like software.
