Data Center Network Engineer

Location: Hybrid in New York, NY; Austin, TX; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA. Travel to onsite deployments: 50–60%.

Salary: $164,000–$206,000 USD base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

• Deploy and validate front-end, back-end, BMS, and management data center networks, including switch configuration and optical installation.
• Coordinate cabling and fiber remediation, validate insertion loss and OTDR traces, troubleshoot optical-layer issues, and document as-built infrastructure.
• Manage device staging, rack and stack coordination, RMAs, DCIM updates, inventory, and vendor shipments.
• Partner with DC Operations, ICT, Hardware, and Network Engineering to identify blockers and complete multi-team deployments.
• Maintain cutsheets, validation results, lessons learned, and deployment playbooks.
• Provide incident response, troubleshooting, and break-fix support during and after deployments.

Requirements

• Hands-on data center network engineering experience with production fabrics using EVPN/VXLAN, BGP, and CLOS.
• Experience configuring switches, pulling cable, troubleshooting optical layers, and validating physical connectivity.
• Ability to troubleshoot OTDR traces, insertion loss, BGP sessions, and connectivity across complex topologies.
• Clear communication, strong documentation, and reliable follow-through across technical and non-technical teams.
• Willingness to travel 50–60% for onsite deployments.
