Solutions Architect (Data Platforms)

Location: Remote within the continental United States; periodic travel may be required. U.S. citizenship and an active DoW Secret or higher clearance are required.

What you will do

• Design scalable solutions for a federal health data platform spanning cloud, on-premises, and government-hosted environments.
• Translate mission, business, data, security, and operational requirements into technical designs covering governance, access, quality, and data lifecycle needs.
• Define integration approaches across DoW and federal health systems using APIs, pipelines, shared services, and reusable data products.
• Support modernization of legacy systems through current-state and target-state architectures, reference patterns, and technical guardrails.
• Evaluate security, scalability, performance, reliability, maintainability, cost, and delivery risks across Databricks and cloud services.
• Produce architecture diagrams, interface definitions, decision records, technical documentation, and roadmaps while collaborating with engineers, technical leads, customers, and mission stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active DoW Secret or higher clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• 3–10+ years of experience in solutions architecture, data architecture, software engineering, platform engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with enterprise data platforms, distributed systems, data ingestion and transformation, storage, APIs, or data products.
• Experience working in cloud or hybrid-cloud environments and integrating modern and legacy systems.
• Knowledge of data modeling, metadata, lineage, data quality, governance, security, and modern software engineering practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Oracle Cloud.
• Experience across public cloud, on-premises infrastructure, and government data centers.
• Experience with Palantir Foundry, Advana, or similar DoW data environments.
• Experience in healthcare, military health, DoW, or regulated government environments.
• Experience applying AI/ML components, including RAG or agentic patterns.
