What you will do

• Lead the School of Law and provide strategic direction across law, legal studies, criminology, and forensic sciences.
• Oversee teaching quality, programme effectiveness, curriculum development, and alignment with industry trends.
• Lead student engagement, retention, achievement, and staff academic development initiatives.
• Manage and mentor academic staff, supporting recruitment, performance reviews, and professional development.
• Build relationships with industry partners, professional bodies, university partners, and academic networks.
• Manage resources, pursue funding opportunities, and support financially sustainable programme development.

Requirements

• LLM or equivalent qualification in law, legal studies, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
• Significant academic leadership experience, preferably at Head of Department, Associate Dean, or equivalent senior level.
• Proven experience in teaching, curriculum development, and academic management in law or legal studies.
• Experience with strategic planning, staff management, financial oversight, and complex project delivery.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

Nice to have

• PhD or equivalent qualification in law, legal studies, or a related discipline.
• Experience managing interdisciplinary teams and collaborative teaching initiatives.
• Experience in undergraduate and postgraduate higher education, franchised or validated partnerships.
• Academic or industry networks in law and legal studies.
• Knowledge of accreditation processes, higher education regulators, and current developments in law education.
