Security Engineer (Endpoint Security)

Location: n/a; work is primarily performed in an office environment.

Estimated pay range: $100,000–$120,000 per year, with the final offer based on location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Engineer and maintain security baselines, endpoint security policies, configuration profiles, Group Policy, MECM baselines, and Jamf configurations.
• Implement Defender for Endpoint, attack surface reduction, firewall, BitLocker, FileVault, Credential Guard, application control, and device encryption policies.
• Configure compliance policies and Conditional Access dependencies supporting Zero Trust initiatives.
• Validate security baseline deployments through testing, pilot implementations, production rollouts, and impact assessments of Microsoft updates.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, RMF, ISSO, and engineering teams to meet organizational security requirements and support vulnerability remediation.
• Document implementations, troubleshoot policy conflicts, participate in change management and CAB reviews, and support endpoint modernization initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise endpoint management environments.
• Ability to obtain, maintain, and access classified information at the Public Trust level.
• Experience administering Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and MECM/SCCM.
• Experience implementing Microsoft Security Baselines and CIS Benchmarks, with knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, access control, endpoint security, incident response, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust Architecture, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Strong PowerShell scripting, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

Nice to have

• Jamf Pro administration and Azure Virtual Desktop experience.
• Microsoft Intune Administrator Associate, Microsoft Security Administrator, CISSP, Security+, or similar certification.
• Experience supporting HHS, NIH, or other federal agencies.
