Senior AI Engineer (Agentic Systems)

What you will do

• Design and build the runtime for agentic systems, including planning and execution loops, tool calling, state management, durable execution, failure recovery, coordination, and handoffs.
• Develop production agents that transform expert-defined domain workflows into reliable, human-reviewed executions grounded in authoritative enterprise data.
• Implement approval gates, override capture, uncertainty handling, evidence collection, and feedback loops that improve agent behavior.
• Build evaluation harnesses and production metrics for task completion, tool-call correctness, groundedness, trajectory quality, reliability, latency, cost, and human intervention.
• Integrate agents with platform APIs and enterprise systems, building permission-aware retrieval and context pipelines with traceable audit trails.
• Build and operate backend services and deployment infrastructure on AWS, contributing to architecture, infrastructure as code, and deployment pipelines.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including production systems.
• Production experience with LLM systems, tool-using or multi-step agentic workflows, LLM APIs, function calling, and planning and execution loops.
• Strong understanding of LLM limitations, failure modes, non-determinism, and debugging of distributed systems.
• Solid backend and cloud experience with AWS or an equivalent platform.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and/or Python.
• Ability to make tradeoffs between accuracy, latency, reliability, and cost while owning production systems end to end.

Nice to have

• C# and Microsoft .NET Framework experience.
• MCP and other tool or interoperability protocols.
• Agent-specific evaluation pipelines, retrieval and grounding techniques, or workflow and durable-execution platforms such as Temporal, Step Functions, or n8n.
• Experience with regulated or domain-heavy systems, including validation, audit trails, and controlled change.
• Containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure as code with Kubernetes, ECS, EKS, Terraform, or similar tools.
