Lead Electrical Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; or Seattle, WA

Salary: $300,000 – $365,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Own electrical engineering across the portfolio, from utility interface to rack distribution.
• Set and evolve the electrical reference design, including switchgear, UPS topology, and busway.
• Make critical field electrical calls to maintain build speed and ensure energization readiness.
• Review consultant studies, including short circuit, coordination, and arc flash, with high technical rigor.
• Manage technical execution across concurrent gigawatt-scale sites.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Austin, New York, San Francisco, or Seattle.
• Proven experience leading electrical engineering for data center or heavy industrial builds.
• Ability to review protection and coordination studies and identify technical errors.
• Experience owning energization sequences with utilities and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs).
• Strong field decision-making skills that balance speed and safety.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with MV and HV distribution.
• Knowledge of behind-the-meter generation and utility interconnection.
