Lead Identity & Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom; hybrid workplace with blended working across home, clubhouse, and client locations.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and operation of identity and access management capabilities across the Accounts platform.
• Provide technical leadership for token-based authentication and authorisation services, including JWT token services.
• Design secure application and integration patterns using established identity and security standards.
• Establish engineering standards, patterns, documentation, and best practices for identity and security.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with architecture, platform, application engineering, and security teams.
• Improve the reliability, scalability, observability, operational maturity, and security posture of identity services.

Requirements

• Strong practical experience with OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect, including implementation and troubleshooting.
• Experience with JSON Web Tokens, token-based authentication and authorisation, identity providers, and enterprise IAM solutions.
• Professional Java experience developing secure, production-grade backend services.
• Knowledge of Git-based software delivery, modern CI/CD practices, Kubernetes, and containerised environments.
• Experience with AWS, cloud security and infrastructure, secure APIs, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of authentication, authorisation, token lifecycle management, secrets management, and least-privilege access.
