Senior Product Engineer (Product Manager)

Location: London, hybrid; work from home is available on Mondays and Fridays, with office attendance from Tuesday through Thursday.

What you will do

• Own platform stability through SLA/SLO metrics, incident rates, release quality, and production release gates.
• Define and prioritise the platform roadmap and backlog based on business value and product team dependencies.
• Build business cases for platform investment and track impact through developer velocity, incident cost, time-to-market, reliability, and capacity.
• Act as the primary interface between platform engineering, product pods, leadership, finance, and architecture.
• Make platform work visible through leadership reviews, dependency planning, and measurable success metrics.
• Write production code, review pull requests, and contribute to architecture discussions as a hands-on technical individual contributor.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on engineering experience shipping production systems.
• Strong commercial judgement, including business cases, ROI, and P&L impact.
• Exceptional stakeholder management across product, engineering, and finance without relying on direct authority.
• Experience operating as a senior individual contributor across multiple teams.
• Clear, proactive, low-ego communication and comfort with ambiguity.
• Experience with Kotlin, AWS, Postgres, RabbitMQ, Docker, Kubernetes, or comparable platform technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with platform engineering, infrastructure, or developer tooling.
• Familiarity with SLA/SLO frameworks and incident management at scale.
• Experience enforcing CI/CD standards across multiple teams or pods.
• Experience explaining infrastructure value to non-technical leadership.
