Sr. Manager, Data Science (ML/LLM/Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing technical guidance, career development, and performance management.
• Define priorities, identify risks and gaps, support staffing and budget planning, and communicate milestones to senior business leaders.
• Plan team roadmaps that balance research innovation with production machine learning delivery.
• Partner with security research, engineering, product, and cybersecurity experts to identify high-impact ML opportunities.
• Guide advanced models for malware detection, behavioral threat analysis, and AI-driven security automation.
• Drive research initiatives and contribute hands-on technical expertise when needed, including publications, patents, and other community contributions.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of experience in data science and machine learning.
• At least 5 years in technical leadership or team lead roles.
• Experience leading machine learning projects from research through production deployment.
• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and translate business problems into technical objectives.
• Strong communication, prioritization, risk management, and program management skills, plus experience using AI technologies to improve business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity expertise, including threat intelligence, malware analysis, or security operations.
• Experience with agentic AI systems, LLMs, autonomous security automation, or advanced ML methods such as semi-supervised and online learning.
• Experience with large sparse datasets, ML operations, model monitoring, A/B testing, production ML infrastructure, AWS, and Linux.
• Experience hiring and scaling high-performing data science teams and setting technical vision.
• Published research, patents, or contributions to ML or security communities.
