Software Engineer 2 (Backend)

What you will do

• Design and build backend services supporting search, remediation, and quarantine workflows across multi-tenant enterprise email environments.
• Scope, develop, and deliver customer-facing features in collaboration with technical and product stakeholders.
• Own system reliability through unit and integration testing, production observability, and operational improvements.
• Contribute to REST API design and troubleshoot customer issues through on-call support.
• Communicate asynchronously, surface blockers, propose solutions, and provide delivery updates.
• Mentor junior engineers and raise engineering quality through code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Sciences, Information Systems, or a related engineering field.
• 3+ years of industry experience in backend development and distributed systems.
• Experience building components from scratch and operating them in production.
• Experience improving reliability, resiliency, and observability in production systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures and system design.
• Proficiency in asynchronous and written communication within distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Python, Go, AWS, Kubernetes, or Django.
• Experience with search systems, remediation workflows, or SOC operational tooling.
• Experience with SIEM/SOAR integrations or platform APIs.
• Exposure to email security, DMARC, DKIM, or cybersecurity products.
