Mortgage Loan Officer - Charleston, SC

Location: Charleston, SC; office workplace. Applicants must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States.

What you will do

• Develop residential mortgage business through internal and external referral sources.
• Build and maintain relationships with community members, clients, and referral partners.
• Evaluate credit potential and analyze customers' financial information to recommend suitable mortgage products.
• Advise customers on loan options, application completion, and the advantages and disadvantages of financial products.
• Coordinate with loan origination sources to secure and verify information required for underwriting.
• Provide customer service throughout loan approval and closing while identifying cross-selling opportunities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably in a bank.
• NMLS license.
• Knowledge of mortgage procedures, documentation, underwriting guidelines, and mortgage products such as conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs.
• Effective written and verbal communication, strong organization, and multitasking skills.
• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Existing mortgage pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Experience identifying opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services.
• PC and internet skills.
