TL;DR
Lead Software Engineer (C#.NET) - Data & AI Products (AI): Building AI-powered applications and agentic capabilities for post-trade data with an accent on LLM workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, data integration, and reliable enterprise software delivery. Focus on designing scalable backend architecture, evaluating AI output quality, implementing secure CI/CD and observability, and leading technical direction in a regulated fintech context.
Location: Bad Homburg, Germany; hybrid workplace with two office days per week and remote work on other days

What you will do
- Build and integrate AI-powered application features, including LLM workflows, retrieval-augmented generation, agent integrations, and data-driven user experiences.
- Translate complex client and product needs into technical designs and sustainable implementation plans.
- Shape component architecture, integration patterns, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Improve engineering quality through code reviews, design reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure development practices.
- Collaborate across engineering, product, architecture, and AI disciplines while sharing knowledge and improving team practices.
- Design evaluation frameworks for AI output quality and production monitoring.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with C#/.NET and backend development in enterprise or product software environments.
- Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, clean code, API design, integration patterns, and maintainable software architecture.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews, CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and modern engineering practices, preferably Azure DevOps.
- Experience with cloud-based development and services, preferably Azure, and cloud-based data platforms, preferably Snowflake.
- Practical understanding of AI application development, including prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, agentic workflows, evaluation methods, and LLM limitations.
- Experience leading technical work, shaping designs, mentoring junior colleagues, and turning ambiguous problems into clear technical direction.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, financial services, investment management, or another regulated industry.
- Experience designing AI output evaluation frameworks and production monitoring.
