Technical Specialist - Embedded Qt Software Architect (Embedded Systems)

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina, United States; flexible workplace policy with a required minimum number of onsite days per week. Relocation assistance is indicated in the position title.

Salary: $168,000–$231,000 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Design and develop user-interface software architectures for medical devices using Qt Studio and Qt Widgets.
• Develop and maintain embedded software platforms in C/C++, including reliable interfaces with hardware components.
• Define software requirements, draft test cases, and collaborate with systems and quality assurance engineers.
• Implement MVC and/or MVVM architectures and create automated tests with the Qt Squish framework.
• Lead design and code reviews while maintaining architecture documentation, diagrams, and software quality standards.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on C++ design patterns, secure coding, and embedded systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience focused on embedded systems and Qt Studio or similar UI SDKs.
• Experience creating and managing Jenkins CI/CD jobs, integrating version control, and troubleshooting pipelines.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Qt, Qt Widgets, MVC and/or MVVM patterns, automated testing, and Git.
• Experience with Agile development and communicating complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work under hirify.global’s flexible workplace policy, including a required minimum number of onsite days per week in Raleigh.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of software development and validation experience in a regulated industry.
• Knowledge of IEC 62304, IEC 60601, ISO 14971, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, and EU MDR.
• Experience enforcing software development and verification documentation standards.
