Manager, AI Governance

Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia; hybrid working with two days per week in the office

What you will do

• Design, implement and continuously improve the AI governance control framework.
• Establish AI lifecycle assurance processes from ideation through retirement.
• Define governance standards, evidence requirements and assurance artefacts for AI systems.
• Conduct technical risk assessments for generative AI, machine learning and agentic AI solutions.
• Develop evaluation methods covering robustness, fairness, groundedness and performance.
• Maintain the AI inventory and risk register, prepare governance reporting, and support organisation-wide capability uplift.

Requirements

• Deep experience in AI governance, responsible AI, AI assurance, model risk management or technical risk.
• Strong understanding of the AI lifecycle, including generative AI, machine learning, MLOps, LLMOps and AI incident management.
• Experience designing controls for privacy, explainability, fairness, robustness, safety, auditability and monitoring.
• Practical experience evaluating generative AI, including prompt reviews, hallucination assessment, groundedness testing and output quality evaluation.
• Ability to translate AI ethics, regulatory obligations and governance requirements into practical controls and delivery guardrails.
• Experience working with risk, privacy, cyber security, audit and compliance stakeholders, plus knowledge of NIST AI RMF, ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 23894.
