Senior Systems Engineer (Medical Devices)

Location: Round Lake, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with a required minimum number of days onsite each week

Salary: $96,000–$132,000 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses

What you will do

• Lead the development of design inputs and digital interface requirements.
• Translate user needs into system requirements with Marketing, Clinical, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Lead Electrical, Mechanical, and Software Engineering resources in decomposing system requirements into derived requirements.
• Resolve interface issues and document theories of operation for complex medical product designs.
• Define verification and validation test strategies using requirements tracing methods.
• Support risk analysis, configuration management, design transfer, and compliance with the product development process and Quality System.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 2+ years of experience.
• Solid understanding of systems engineering and related disciplines, including electromechanical systems, digital interfaces, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Experience solving technical challenges using investigative and problem-solving methods such as DFSS, DMAIC, or CAPA.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
• Visa sponsorship and transfer of employment visa sponsorship are not available.

Nice to have

• Medical device industry experience.
• Experience with infusion pumps or syringe pumps.
