Build Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and integrating engine modules for the Symphony and Superpower gas turbine from concept and design through fabrication, assembly, and testing with an accent on design for manufacturing, simplified interfaces, and hands-on hardware development. Focus on reducing part count, working directly with in-house fabrication and suppliers, and integrating, testing, and iterating hardware on test stands.

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States; onsite role. Applicants must satisfy U.S. ITAR and EAR eligibility requirements.

Salary: $107,000–$144,000 for P2, $124,000–$167,000 for P3, and $139,000–$187,000 for P4 per year.

What you will do

  • Own a turbomachinery, mechanical systems, or structures and integration module from requirements through design, fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Make design decisions that reduce part count, simplify assembly, and accelerate the transition from drawings to hardware.
  • Work directly with the in-house shop and external suppliers to produce parts correctly, quickly, and within budget.
  • Integrate hardware onto test stands, observe testing, troubleshoot failures, and deliver design iterations.
  • Collaborate across design, fabrication, supply chain, analysis, and test functions.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Practical design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly judgment.
  • Hands-on experience turning designs into physical hardware, preferably in aerospace, automotive, defense, energy, racing, robotics, or another high-consequence environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to make hardware simpler, cheaper, and faster to build.
  • Must meet U.S. ITAR and EAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
