Location: Folsom, California, USA. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical authority for GC and GC/MS instrumentation and applications.
• Investigate complex analytical issues affecting data quality and turnaround time.
• Support method development, modification, and validation in response to client needs and regulatory changes.
• Establish best practices for instrument maintenance, system cleanliness, and performance monitoring.
• Partner with QA, operations, leadership, and clients on technical discussions, continuous improvement, and laboratory standardization.
• Evaluate new instrumentation, consumables, and technologies while providing advanced training and mentorship.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Chemistry or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience with GC/MS platforms, including GC/MS/MS.
• Demonstrated leadership in method development and technical problem solving.
• Experience mentoring teams and influencing across functions.
• Experience with air-phase analysis and EPA Toxic Organic Compendium methods is preferred.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship is required. Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking, is also required.
