Senior Customs Expert

What you will do

• Manage import, export, transit, virtual, and other customs operations.
• Ensure compliance with Mexican customs laws, regulations, government programs, registries, licenses, and non-tariff restrictions.
• Act as a point of contact for customs authorities and coordinate operational activities with brokers and third parties.
• Identify opportunities to optimize customs operations, reduce duties and operating costs, and mitigate business continuity risks.
• Ensure correct tariff classification and monitor KPIs and process performance.
• Translate regulatory changes into operational guidelines and address knowledge gaps through training and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Economics, Administration, International Business, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in customs, foreign trade, import, and export.
• Experience managing IMMEX/CIVA, Annex 24, PROSEC, and OEA benefits or programs.
• Experience with tariff classification and customs compliance.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Fluent English is required. Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, conflict management, and problem-solving skills are expected.
