Lead Buyer – New Product Development (Manufacturing) (sourcing and procurement): Driving supplier selection, qualification, negotiations, and production readiness for new product development programs with an accent on technically complex manufacturing, cross-functional collaboration, and launch execution. Focus on optimizing total cost of ownership, evaluating supplier risk, and meeting launch milestones, cost targets, and supplier readiness KPIs.
Location: Huntingdon, United Kingdom, with a hybrid work arrangement

What you will do
- Own sourcing and procurement activities for new product development programs from concept through production launch.
- Lead supplier selection, qualification, onboarding, and production readiness across multiple projects.
- Partner with Engineering, R&D, Operations, Commodity Management, and Buyer Planners on sourcing and production transition.
- Engage suppliers early in the design phase to improve quality, reduce lead times, and optimize total cost of ownership.
- Negotiate commercial agreements and supplier terms supporting the product innovation roadmap.
- Support make-versus-buy analysis, supplier risk evaluation, sourcing strategy, launch milestones, and readiness KPIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or project management within manufacturing or product development.
- Direct experience supporting New Product Development or New Product Introduction programs.
- Experience with supplier qualification, sourcing strategy, supplier negotiations, and technically complex or engineered products.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, R&D, Operations, and Procurement stakeholders.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in aerospace, automation, industrial equipment, electronics, medical devices, or other complex manufacturing industries.
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, commodity management, supplier development, lean manufacturing, or continuous improvement.
- Experience with high-mix, low-volume manufacturing, stage-gate, or product lifecycle management processes.
