Physicist/Scientist III-X-ray Imaging (E3)

Location: Benicia, California, United States; onsite role. Relocation is not available.

Salary: $120,000–$165,000 per year.

What you will do

• Define novel inspection system concepts and configurations, including system requirements and specifications.
• Design and engineer modules and sub-modules, qualify them, and develop new or modified inspection and metrology systems.
• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, conduct performance analysis, and support product risk management decisions.
• Support physics-related application and system issues in laboratory and field environments, including troubleshooting and advising on solutions.
• Plan projects, evaluate competing and emerging technologies, conduct feasibility studies, and demonstrate new system capabilities.
• Participate in vendor selection and customer technology engagements, and guide less experienced physicists and scientists.

Requirements

• Conceptual and practical expertise in the candidate’s own physics discipline, with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
• Knowledge of best practices, competitive factors, and how the discipline integrates with other functions.
• Ability to solve complex problems using analysis from multiple information sources and to develop new perspectives on existing solutions.
• Ability to explain difficult or sensitive information and build consensus.
• Ability to act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
