Location: Heimstetten, Germany; travel required up to 10% of the time. Relocation is not eligible.

Salary: €70,400–€96,800 per year.

What you will do

• Define concepts and configurations for novel inspection and metrology systems.
• Design, engineer, qualify, and test modules and sub-modules for new products.
• Conduct physics research, experiments, feasibility studies, and performance analysis.
• Define system requirements, troubleshoot system problems, and support physics-related application issues in laboratories and the field.
• Contribute to product risk management, vendor selection, customer engagements, and evaluation of competing technologies.
• Guide less experienced physicists and scientists.

Requirements

• Scientific or technical degree, preferably a doctorate in physics or a comparable discipline such as physical technology or optics.
• Practical experience designing, constructing, and operating particle beam systems.
• Knowledge of electron microscopy, including SEM/TEM, and electron optics.
• Knowledge of ultra-high vacuum and high-voltage technology is desirable.
• Systematic, analytical, goal-oriented working style and readiness for interdisciplinary collaboration.
