SIU Field Investigator - Brevard County, FL

Location: Applicant must reside in a commutable location to Melbourne, Florida

Salary: $32.05–$49.86 per hour

What you will do

• Investigate suspected insurance fraud and other illegal activities against the company.
• Interview involved parties, obtain statements, conduct database inquiries, and locate information sources and witnesses.
• Gather and evaluate evidence to determine credibility and support fraud investigation conclusions.
• Refer and coordinate investigation assignments with outside agencies.
• Provide training and support to departments involved in the claims handling process.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field, or qualifying investigative experience.
• Five years of insurance claims investigative, law enforcement, or professional investigation experience, or seven years of investigation experience involving economic or insurance-related matters.
• Experience handling in-person or phone statements and documenting investigative files clearly and professionally.
• Ability to gather evidence, draw conclusions, prioritize investigative workloads, and manage stressful situations.
• Must obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license, required certifications, and permits.
• Must be able to lift and carry equipment, work around vehicles, and apply caution while performing field duties.

Nice to have

• Four-year degree or higher.
• SIU investigations experience across diverse teams and SIU functions.
• Experience with financial, casualty, bodily injury, workers’ compensation, commercial, marine, auto, property, or underwriting fraud investigations.
• Experience handling complex fraud cases or rings and using public record or claims databases.
• Professional designations such as CIFI, CFE, FCLA, or CPCU.
