What you will do

• Define concepts and configurations for novel inspection and metrology systems.
• Design, engineer, and qualify optical modules and sub-modules for new products.
• Develop inspection and metrology systems, perform physics research, and support application and system issues in laboratory and field environments.
• Define system requirements, troubleshoot system problems, and support physics-related customer and field issues.
• Plan development projects, conduct statistically valid experiments and feasibility studies, and provide data for product risk decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, participate in vendor selection and customer engagements, demonstrate new capabilities, and guide less experienced physicists and scientists.

Requirements

• Conceptual and practical expertise in optical engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Working knowledge of related disciplines and how optical engineering integrates with other areas.
• Ability to solve complex problems using analysis from multiple information sources.
• Ability to explain difficult or sensitive technical information and build consensus.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
