Director, HR Technology (Workday)

Location: Austin, TX or Santa Clara, CA, United States. Travel required 25% of the time. Relocation eligible.

Salary: $172,000.00–$236,500.00 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of a scalable global HR technology ecosystem supporting operational excellence and employee experience.
• Shape the HR technology roadmap with Employee Experience leads and other stakeholders.
• Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of HRIS analysts and HR technology professionals.
• Drive HR process scalability, automation, continuous improvement, and service delivery using emerging technologies including AI tools.
• Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Business Partners, IT, Data & Analytics, and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technology solutions.
• Manage intake, prioritization, delivery, and execution of HR technology and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of progressive experience in HR Technology, including strong leadership experience.
• Deep understanding of global HR systems, processes, and data governance.
• Strategic thinking and ability to contribute to global programs, frameworks, and process improvements.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to make data-driven recommendations.
• Experience managing end-to-end HR technology projects, including requirements gathering, design validation, user acceptance testing, and deployment.
• Ability to partner with the Data & Analytics team to maintain data integrity, security, and compliance across HR platforms.
• Subject-matter expertise in HR technology and ability to solve complex business challenges across departments.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop HR technology professionals in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder engagement, influence, maturity, interpersonal effectiveness, prioritization, situational awareness, and complex decision-making ability.
• Hands-on leadership style with attention to technical details while maintaining a strategic perspective and driving innovation.

Nice to have

• Experience leading Workday implementations or transformations.
• Experience with ServiceNow, Eightfold, and other HR technologies.
