Procurement, Tech Category Management (Technology Supplier Management)

Location: Bethesda, MD or Chicago, IL; hybrid with a requirement to work in the office three days per week

Annual salary: $95,325–$157,850

What you will do

• Establish governance for high-risk, high-spend, and complex technology supplier relationships.
• Develop and lead supplier strategies across sourcing, contracting, relationship management, and termination.
• Develop negotiation strategies and lead contracting efforts for technology and other services.
• Lead RFx strategy and execution to improve pricing, contract terms, savings, efficiency, and speed to market.
• Serve as the primary contact for assigned suppliers and lead executive business reviews.
• Partner with internal risk groups to ensure policy compliance and drive sustainable process improvements.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in relationship management, supplier management, project management, process management, or a combination of these areas.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, analytical, communication, and time-management skills.
• Proven experience developing and executing supplier strategies and negotiating with vendors.
• Ability to identify and drive process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Experience with supplier management and procurement software solutions.

Nice to have

• Experience managing SaaS, AI, PaaS, on-premises, and other technology vendors, including contracting and negotiation.
• A four-year degree in finance, business administration, or supplier management.
