Описание вакансии
TL;DR
Platform Engineer (TypeScript/Node.js): Building durable agent runtimes, model gateways, shared backend services, and secure execution infrastructure for an enterprise AI platform with an accent on service boundaries, reliability, and production operation. Focus on designing fault-tolerant distributed systems, evolving APIs safely, handling migrations and partial failures, and operating high-load services across cloud and on-premises environments.
Location: On-site at Greifswalder Strasse 212 in Berlin, Germany. An existing right to work in Germany is required; visa sponsorship is not currently available.
Salary: €90,000–€140,000 gross per year, plus equity.
Company
provides a secure AI platform used by more than 10,000 companies to access AI models, build agents, and automate workflows.
What you will do
- Own shared platform services from architecture and API design through deployment, observability, migrations, and long-term production operation.
- Build durable agent execution infrastructure that can recover from process failures, pause for approvals or external events, and avoid repeating committed tool calls.
- Develop a model gateway with provider adapters, routing, rate limits, fallbacks, streaming safety, usage tracking, and a control plane.
- Move capabilities from the TypeScript monolith into independently operated Go and Node.js services using Protobuf and gRPC contracts.
- Build consistent integration, tool execution, and sandboxed code execution services with secure authentication, permissions, resource budgets, and network controls.
- Improve production confidence through load testing, privacy-conscious logging, online database changes, automated recovery, and operational runbooks.
Requirements
- 3–6 years of experience building and operating backend systems under real load.
- Strong TypeScript and Node.js skills, with familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, networking, databases, and queues.
- Ability to design stable service boundaries and APIs while addressing data integrity, tenant isolation, backward compatibility, partial failure, and safe rollout.
- Experience operating production systems, investigating failure modes, responding to incidents, and turning incidents into lasting improvements.
- Comfort working autonomously in small squads, making technical decisions, documenting designs, and collaborating asynchronously.
- Existing authorization to work in Germany is required; visa sponsorship is unavailable.
Nice to have
- Experience with Go and embedded SpiceDB.
- Exposure to Bazel, Protobuf, gRPC, Redis, BullMQ, PostgreSQL, Prisma, Datadog, Sentry, or multi-cloud and on-premises deployments.
- Experience with AI tools for engineering work while retaining responsibility for architecture and production changes.
Culture & Benefits
- High-trust, autonomous work in squads of three to four engineers.
- Asynchronous alignment through product requirement documents and design documents, followed by focused in-office discussions.
- Ownership of shipped changes and their production reliability, supported by observability, migration tooling, automated tests, and runbooks.
- In-office collaboration in Berlin, with shared lunches and dinner available for employees who stay later.
- Equity included with the role.
Hiring process
- The appropriate level is determined based on experience and scope of ownership.
- Levels and salaries are structured around the work owned rather than title or negotiation.
