Accounting Manager (Accounts Payable)

Location: Glen Allen, Virginia, USA; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday

Salary: USD 50–55 per hour

What you will do

• Direct and organize the day-to-day activities of the Accounts Payable team.
• Oversee invoice processing, payment generation, expense payments, general ledger activity, and pre-post batch expense processing.
• Maintain AP controls, service levels, policies, procedures, and compliance with applicable banking regulations and BSA/AML requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements that increase scalability and operational efficiency.
• Support hiring and cross-training of Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Handle 1099 processing, audit requests, accounting issue resolution, and onboarding of new legal entities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
• At least two years of accounting or Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a financial institution.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead others.
• Working knowledge of an automated Accounts Payable system; Concur is preferred.
• Advanced math, moderate accounting, analytical, problem-solving, PC, Microsoft Office, and Excel skills.
• Moderate written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills for working with teammates and vendors.
