Senior Reliability Engineer - DoorDash Dot (Robotics)

Salary: $139,400–$205,000 USD per year, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Develop and implement validation strategies for unmanned platforms using Python automation, CAD, and shop tools.
• Design custom test fixtures, hardware rigs, and test equipment.
• Manage testing across internal facilities and external laboratories using vibration tables, environmental chambers, DAQ systems, and ingress protection testing.
• Translate vehicle reliability requirements into performance metrics and lead FMEA and FTA sessions.
• Investigate hardware failures through FRACAS and drive design improvements.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, autonomy, and software engineering teams to validate sensors, software reliability, and HIL simulation environments.

Requirements

• At least five years of experience in reliability validation or hardware testing for robotics, unmanned platforms, or automated vehicles.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, or Robotics Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with environmental chambers, vibration tables, DAQ systems, CAD, and shop tools.
• Proficiency with Python scripts for test automation.
• Understanding of the interaction between autonomy software and physical hardware.
• Strong communication and analytical skills, with experience structuring complex testing environments.
